Mario Super Sluggers

Wow, my first blog post. Hope I don't screw it up.

I'm going to assume most people didn't buy this game, maybe because of it being too childish or thinking it was just another Mario game. Well, I for one, enjoy this game.
Mario Super Sluggers for the wii is actually a great game. It's simply baseball with the same rules, just with Mario characters and obstacle filled stages. When you start a match, you choose your captain (A major Mario character), choose your roster, select how you want them on the field, and start the game.
At bat, you have 3 options. You can simply swing the wiimote to swing the bat, wind up then swing for a charged swing, and hold A+B to do a special star swing. A charged swing has the chance of getting a home run, while a star swing, which consumes stars that you get by playing well, cannot get you a home run, but affects the ball in a unique way where the outfield gets hit trying to get it. You then shake the wiimote to run from base to base. On the other side, the pitcher can throw the ball, lob the ball, or perform a star throw to confuse the batter. Also, you can control the outfield and make then jump or dash. Just be careful of any obstacles in the field, like barrels or manholes.
At first chance of playing this game, it may seem simple to you; Just hit the ball or throw the ball and you'll be fine. However, 'chemistry' plays a huge factor in the game. Characters between themselves may have chemistry, like Toadsworth and Peach or Bowser and Bowser Jr. At bat (If items are on), if the person after you has chemistry, you can use an item after you bat to attack the outfield. In the outfield, if two people who have chemistry are next to each other, they can do a buddy toss ti quickly pass the ball to a base, or perform a buddy jump; If the opponent manages to hit the ball and is about to hit a home run, you can stop it by performing a buddy jump at the right time, catching the ball, and giving them an out.
Once you learn all the techniques, this game becomes pretty fun. Add a story mode that teaches you the game & unlocks characters and mini-games and you get a game that's pretty good to play. It may take some time to get to like the game, but after awhile, you'll love it. It's simple, bright, beautiful, and fun to play (Its 4 players BTW).

This is a Wii Game that is actually GOOD
